Carolina Week Testimonial: It was easy for me to become addicted and immersed into the experience that only Carolina Week can provide a student journalist. Carolina Week was a mini-model of your typical newsroom. We operated as professionals and got real-world, hands-on skills. Dr. Tuggle, Professor Simpson and a host of graduate students pushed us each show to reach our personal and team best, and most importantly, to achieve journalism excellence. The countless hours spent preparing for each week's broadcast was a continual learning experience and by far the most rewarding and challenging time of my academic life at UNC. Carolina Week was my launching pad to become a producer at the network level. I couldn't have gotten my chance at ABC News in New York post-graduation without the Carolina Week experience. When I entered that professional world of broadcasting at ABC, I felt more prepared to handle the demands of the business compared to my colleagues who had earned degrees from other institutions.

Above all, I believe Carolina Week taught me that an enormous amount of dedication and hard work is required to achieve success and a whole lotta fun can be had along the way!
