Carolina Connection Testimonial: At CW and Connection, I learned the particulars of the news business from a broad range of perspectives, as a reporter, director, engineer, anchor and producer. Writing will always be my first love, but the experience I gained in the hands-on newsroom environment and the wide variety of opportunities to learn and work here were by far my best training. Carolina Week gave me the chance to understand the needs and position of everyone in the chain of command, all the way from cub reporter to news director and how we all work together to create the best product possible. In the news business, we're all interdependent, and there's no better classroom to truly learn that than CW. It has made me not just a better journalist, but better prepared for anything I try. Even as a freelancer I'm part of a team, and I owe it to Dr. T, Professor Simpson and all my friends at Carolina Week for showing me that.
