Carolina Week Testimonial:
As part of Carolina Week I didn't just learn about great television news, I helped make great (and award-winning) television news. Once I moved into the professional world, I knew I could rely on experience from Carolina Week but was a bit surprised by how valuable its gift of confidence would be. Of course, just being a journalism student at Carolina teaches you a lot about how to be a great journalist. It's an exceptional foundation, but Carolina Week allows you to add experience to that foundation. From just coming up with a story idea to seeing it air in the newscast, I was able to have a hand in every aspect of television news. I reported, shot and edited video, and worked in the control room and the studio. It's that regular practice outside the classroom and the wide-range of opportunities that make Carolina Week so special. When you move on, "I know how to do that," becomes your motto. You can also be confident you've made great friends on whom you can always rely, and no matter what you learn once you graduate, you can be confident Carolina Week gave you a head start that's better than almost anyone else.
