Carolina Week Testimonial: Carolina Week is the best experience you can get if you're interested in working in broadcast journalism. I worked at Carolina Week both as a producer and as a reporter, and I got a job producing at an NBC affiliate right after graduating. Within my first week on the job, I was producing a live, one-hour broadcast, and the transition from Carolina Week to the "real world" of TV news was pretty seamless. In a live newscast, a seemingly infinite number of things can go wrong, and the only way to prepare for those inevitabilities is with hands-on experience. I was able to handle the challenges of my first job because I had "been there before" with Carolina Week. If you're interested in broadcast journalism, or just think you might be interested, I'd recommend getting involved with Carolina Week.
