Carolina Week--What can you say about an experience that prepares you for your dream job...because CW did that for me. I know I'm a better reporter and writer because of CW. Who can forget Dr. T's infamous news and grammar quizzes?! While all my colleagues at my first job were struggling with their grammar, it was a walk in the park for me because I was taught (ok, it was drilled into me) well. Don't get me wrong, you have to work your tail off as a part of CW! But guess what? The real world is the same way...harder in fact. At CW they demand the best: and I know it never seems like what you do is good enough...but suck it up, take it all in and keep plugging---and one day a news director will hire you too. CW undoubtedly prepared me for my career. Fast forward three and a half years after graduation: I'm in market 27, in MY hometown...doin it BIG! (that's Charlotte, NC by the way) CW had A LOT to do with that.
