Carolina Week Testimonial: Carolina Week is one of those things in my life I really can't imagine not doing. I might be a little biased, but I really don't think there's another program up to par with what journalism students have at UNC. It's really hard to imagine my college experience without CW. Probably because I didn't spend much time outside of Carroll 132! I gained real-world, hands-on experience and learned to do what I love. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, I wouldn't be where I am now without the invaluable experience I gained as a producer of the best student newscast in the country. I didn't just learn how to produce a newscast by reading a textbook, I got to actually produce a newscast. I got to learn how to write very well, and throw in a little editing, shooting, and reporting experience, and I think you have the most well-rounded journalists to graduate from college. I know we're lucky to have such an incredible program, and I'm so happy I was able to be a part of it.

To all you aspiring journalists out there, don't be scared to jump right in, I promise you'll be a better journalist and person for it! What we are is a group of student journalists learning how to do the news, and do it very well.
