Carolina Week Testimonial: Being involved with Carolina Week has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The professionalism and camaraderie among the students, faculty and staff was apparent the first day I walked into the newsroom. The faculty and staff provided me with an invaluable, hands-on introduction to the basics of the broadcast craft. The ability to get your hands dirty right out of the gate has allowed me to truly progress as an artist. There really is no substitute for hands-on experience. The supportive atmosphere helped foster a strong sense of teamwork and shared accomplishment. If one of us did well in a national contest we all felt the reflective glow of that success. The lessons in teamwork and leadership were especially important to me as a person disinclined to play well with others when it comes to getting things done. I’ll always be grateful for the opportunities Carolina Week has opened up for me and for the wonderful people I’ve met through the years.
