Carolina Week Testimonial: I'm blessed to have been part of Carolina Week. I still can't believe we call CW a class. I'm from Chile, moved to Venezuela, then to Miami and Chapel Hill. My English has never been great, but I never felt intimated when I was in CW. I never felt stupid because I didn't know what a jump cut was. At that's the bond and the beauty of CW; we became family, spending long hours together in those tiny, hot rooms in the second floor of Carroll Hall before going together to Franklin St. Mondays and Wednesdays got busy and stressful before shows, and Murphy's Law was always present during shows, but we were learning. We spent so much time together but never had a problem. I must say that I've never been surrounded by so much talent in my life. You learn so much from your classmates. I always thought, “Wow, we have some Emmys here.” Now, when I see what and how my classmates (Class 2005) are doing, I know I was right. What a great group of talented and nice people. After graduation, I worked for ESPNDeportes in Bristol, Conn., and then I moved to New Orleans where I co-host “Enfoque Deportivo” -a sports show on La Fabulosa WFNO 830 AM. Also, I've been blessed to have the opportunity to be the color analyst for the New Orleans Saints in Spanish, and starting Oct.5, 2008 I will be doing the play-by-play for the New Orleans Hornets. I always repeat to myself, “I have to apply what I learned at CW.” That's my motto: Apply everyday what I learned at Carroll Hall. My only regret? I waited too long to join CW (senior year). If I knew the benefits, I would have joined the moment I arrived in Chapel Hill. Don't be shy and knock on that door. You're going to have a blast while learning. You'll see how much you can learn by working with other students. I did!
