Carolina Week Testimonial: Carolina Week prepared me for the "real world" not only by teaching me the fundamentals of broadcast writing and the technical aspects of the business, but by making me learn the work ethic that's needed for a good piece. Good feature stories come from re-writing stories again and again. There's always another question to ask, another angle to see and another person to interview. My advice for anyone taking the class is to be as creative as possible, take advantage of the teachers' knowledge (they know what they're talking about!) and realize this business is all about opinions. Some people are going to like your stories and style while others won't. Take the time in Carolina Week to develop your skills so you can stand behind what you give to the audience. I am so grateful for the teachers, experiences and the friends I made in Carolina Week. The best part... I know I will always be a part of the Carolina Week family.
