Carolina Week Testimonial: I spent a great deal of my third and fourth years at UNC volunteering and then reporting for Carolina Week. I found it to be an extremely challenging and time consuming class, but one for which I continuously felt rewarded with the completion of every successful story and show. The amount I was able to learn in two years, and the product I was eventually able to share with the campus and community still astonishes me. Although I ultimately decided that broadcast journalism wasn't the career for me, I have taken with me a love for and understanding of TV news and sports, as well as many skills, experiences and positive work habits. My advice to anyone looking into broadcast journalism would be to commit early to Carolina Week and get involved as a freshman. Other obligations kept me from focusing on Carolina week until later in college, and I always felt like I was a few steps behind those who volunteered from the get-go. Have fun and enjoy, you'll never look at TV news the same after your time with Carolina Week!
