Carolina Week Testimonial: As a transfer into UNC, I was able to spend only a few years at the J-School, however I feel I maximized my experience and education by participating in Carolina Week (CW). I started out as a sports volunteer and slowly but surely worked my way up to the position of sports reporter/producer. CW put me on the sidelines of Kenan stadium covering the football upsets of Miami and NC State in 2004 and on the baseline of the Dean Smith center covering the incredible comeback against dook in 2005. My experiences with CW also helped prepare me for internships with ESPN Regional, Lincoln Financial Sports, and NBC Olympic Sports in Torino, Italy. It also allowed me to easily transition into my first job at Rivals.com. However, what I'll remember the most about CW is the friendships I made along the way. There will be other games and big upsets that might take the place of the ones I experienced, however nothing will be able to replace the relationships that were fostered through CW.
