Carolina Week Testimonial: A testimonial about Carolina Week could easily take up many, many pages. But, having been trained by CW professors to effectively “write short” for broadcast, I’ll keep it simple. Carolina Week is as close to real-world experience as I think you can get at the university level. The commitment of the professors is exceptional. The facilities are fantastic (even our makeshift makeup room!). And the feeling that you get at the end of a grade “A” newscast when you walk into the newsroom and see the smiles on everyone’s faces? Incomparable. I would recommend getting involved with Carolina Week to anyone interested in pursuing a career in media and journalism. The program will prepare you to be a great asset to the modern journalistic world, in which you're expected to research stories, shoot and edit video, write scripts, and be web-savvy. Oh yeah, Carolina Week is also a whole lot of fun.
