Carolina Week Testimonial: I knew when I was in high school that I wanted to be a journalist, and because I was born and bred a Tar Heel, UNC was the place for me! I was overwhelmed with Carolina Week as a freshman, and I almost turned away. By my junior year and a few journalism classes later, I decided it was time to try again. I joined the Carolina Week team as a reporter/crew member, and was welcomed with open arms. I operated the cameras, ran the playback units, helped more experienced reporters shoot stories, shot and edited my own stories, and let my dog bite the microphone (it was a good story!). I also became the first Volunteer Coordinator at CW, so I could help new CW members from being as overwhelmed as I was. The summer after my senior year, I anchored along with Caitlin Clinard. It was a great experience, and I'll never forget the first summer edition of CW. I'm sure some wish they could forget!

In the end, I decided not to jump straight into journalism. After taking the required media law class I discovered that I loved the law, and journalism would have to wait. Someday, I hope to combine my law and journalism experiences. We'll have to see!
