Carolina Week Testimonial: It's hard to find all the right words to explain how special Carolina Week is to me, but I'll try to do it justice. My dream from the time I was six years old was to work as a reporter at WBTV in Charlotte, NC, my hometown. Carolina Week is the main reason I was able to make that dream come true in less than two years after graduating from UNC. I stayed at WBTV for five years, which was an amazing experience. However, television news can be a stressful business, and that is why I later made the decision to pursue a new career. I now work as a fundraiser for Lutheran Family Services, a nonprofit social outreach ministry, which serves the Carolinas’ most vulnerable individuals, children and families. I’ve found that the communication skills I learned from Carolina Week have benefited me greatly in this new career, and I'm thankful every day for what my education at Carolina has helped me achieve.
