Carolina Connection Testimonial: Carolina Connection played a large role in my decision to enroll in the graduate program at UNC's School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and it certainly didn't disappoint. I was immediately given the chance to work myself into the radio program's system, and was given as much responsibility as I was willing to earn. The fantastic faculty was always available for help and guidance, while allowing us as students to run every aspect of the weekly live broadcast. The opportunity to be a reporter, managing editor and eventually anchor for Carolina Connection gave me the experience and skills I use today as a producer on a daily live public affairs program at one of public radio's flagship stations. It was worth every late Friday afternoon spent huddled in the J-School newsroom over a coffee and the AP newswire.
