Carolina Week Testimonial: Although after graduation I decided to opt out of a career in broadcast news, my involvement with Carolina Week was by far the single-most important element to my academic experience at Carolina. In no other program did I even come close to finding the hands-on, real world experience and individualized tutelage that Carolina Week provides to every involved team member. Carolina Week helped sharpen the very writing skills that I apply to my everyday life, whether work-related or not. The program helped me develop presentation skills that I find myself utilizing not only in daily professional settings, but in social situations as well. Carolina Week taught me that hard work pays off and that teamwork and communication truly are keys to success. It prepared me for tight deadlines and helped rid my blood (at least somewhat) of procrastination tendencies. It helped ease my nerves when approaching people of greater authority and taught me that a pro-active approach will get you further in the end.

Carolina Week provided me with opportunities to meet influential people, travel to interesting places, understand politics and government issues on a first-hand basis, and learn from professors who have mastered their fields of expertise. It gave me a circle of friends whom I probably wouldn't have met otherwise and supplied me with mentors like Dr. T who I still turn to for advice today. I'm certain that Carolina Week's impact on both my career and life endeavors is one that will stick with me in some shape or form for years to come - and for that, I'm forever grateful.
