Carolina Week Testimonial: Professor Simpson first told me about CW during JOMC 120 class my sophomore year. I was hooked on shooting and editing, and I liked the idea of telling stories by playing with cool toys in a college course. CW was a young show but was growing fast, so I jumped right in. A few semesters pulling multi-duty as studio crew member, TD and on-camera reporter led to directing the newscast, which was an awesome experience in leadership and rapid decision-making. We took the hard knocks together (Ha!), but we also enjoyed great success as a tightly-knit group with some killer talent. I think that few academic experiences provide such an intense combination of student teamwork and seasoned faculty resources as Carolina Week.
