Carolina Week Testimonial: Carolina Week taught me valuable lessons that I have applied in my ongoing pursuit for placement in the industry. In fact, it was in every essence a job with benefits. I wish I had jumped on board sooner than in my senior year to truly utilize the opportunities that the program provides, carve out my niche, develop my craft and maximize my potentials. Best advice to all whom it may concern, start volunteering NOW, as a freshman or as soon as you decide you want to be a broadcast journalist. It is absolutely impossible to cram all the great hands-on experiences and lessons you will learn into one academic year. Go out and get internships, and apply what you learned to make your Carolina Week experience better, unique and worthy of accolades. And oh yeah, don't ever forget to write your web-version 'properly', like your life depended on it, because 3 years down the road, the whole world would still be able to read your typos, grammatical errors and poor sentence constructions. I would love to come back and do it again someday, but like Dr. Evil, I still have plans to take over the world with my mic.
