Carolina Week Testimonial: Getting involved with Carolina Week was the best decision I made at UNC. It provided me with real life experience, a top-notch tape, and an impressive resume. Right out of college I was offered a job directing the morning show in a medium-size market. Without Carolina Week I would not have been prepared for the responsibilities I was given. CW gave it to me straight. They were honest and upfront about what it takes to make it in this business.

Carolina Week brings together all aspects of television news into one award-winning program. Even though my background is technical I have a stronger appreciation for what it takes to write and report a good story and to lay out a winning show. “Hard-working” doesn’t cover what all is involved in putting together a successful news show. Professors set high expectations and the true reward is the sense of pride and accomplishment that comes with being an active part of this program.

Finally, the people and professors made lasting impressions on my life. Without this supportive network of workaholic news junkies I don't believe any of us could have come out of this as well as we did. Little sleep, long hours, lots of drinks & fond memories. Thank you.
