Carolina Week Testimonial: When I think of Carolina Week and my time working with the newscast at UNC, a few words come to mind: fun, friends and focus. I joined the crew as a junior, unsure of what role the show would play in my college life. In no time at all, I was happily spending hour upon hour at the studio. The Carolina Week team is like a family, with professors and instructors and upperclassmen leading the way, everyone helping each other out, and all aiming to produce the best newscasts possible. The crew becomes tight both in the studio and on campus, and we all had a blast together. That's where the "fun and friends" come in. But perhaps most important was the "focus" I gained from CW. As a reporter and anchor for the newscast, I discovered a profession about which I was truly passionate. Carolina Week gave me the background and tools needed to hit the ground running in the professional world, as well as the opportunity to land my first job in the business. I still apply the lessons I learned on a daily basis now.
