Carolina Connection Special Report:

Texting While Driving

By Ashley Lopez

From the November 14, 2009, broadcast of Carolina Connection.

Texting while driving is a public safety concern that has captured the
attention of lawmakers and public figures in the past year. Last summer,
over a dozen states passed laws that ban texting while driving. North
Carolina was among the states that passed such a law. Young drivers,
specifically college-age drivers, are most likely to text while driving.
However, the laws are running up against a habit that is going to be
difficult for young drivers to get rid of.
