Julia L. RitcheyPrimary function: Carolina Week/Carolina Connection Reporter Bio: I transferred from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2006 to pursue my interest in radio journalism. Formerly, I had been studying film and television, so I've always been interested in various media. I believe good journalism should be treated more as a public service and necessity rather than the current trend of a ratings-driven business. A well-informed public means a broader audience and a wider variety of stories for the audience to enjoy. I still like editing video more than going out and shooting it, and my dream job would be one combining international travels, reporting for NPR and maybe freelance documentary work on the side. But I'd settle for just NPR. |
