Field Hockey vs. Michigan
By Brian Allen

After the graduation of first-team All-American Katy Tran, the field hockey team faced some big questions going into Saturday's season-opener against Michigan, in the first game of the ACC-Big-Ten Challenge.

Tran's replacement? True freshman Brianna O'Donnell, who had SEVEN saves in her first collegiate game.

Carolina got some senior leadership from Karen Mann in the middle of the second half to put the Heels on the board, and it was Ilsa Davids who hammered home the last nail in the coffin, as Carolina holds off the Wolverines 3-to-1.
