Carrboro festival brings people together through music
By Julia Meyer

Local residents often have the opportunity to enjoy some great music in our area.

Sunday was the annual Carrboro Music Festival, which began in the early afternoon and continued late into the night.

The celebration featured more than 150 local bands and solo artists at various locations throughout Carrboro. Town officials closed off several roads to traffic, allowing people to roam freely from band to band.

Carrboro resident Onja Bock said the event is a great way to bring a community together.

“I really enjoy outdoor music, and it’s a beautiful day of course,” Bock said. “I just moved here from Atlanta and this seems like a real cool community thing to do.”

The musical festival has been a Carrboro tradition for nine years.
