Slow E-mail Service Causes Frustration for Some

With the new school year underway there are a lot more students around to check their email accounts. More students using the system at once means more of a load on the e-mail servers.

Some students have been complaining about the slow response times when they use the university's web mail portal.

An ITS spokesman said the department hasn't received any complaints regarding the slow email times.

Although students haven't complained to ITS... some of them still feel the crunch on their inbox. “It’s been pretty badly slowed up” Says senior Damun Murray. “I was trying to send an e-mail yesterday and it took me a whole lot longer than I expected it to.”

ITS did say that anyone with potential e-mail slowdowns or any other computing problems should call the ITS response center at 962-HELP.
