Return of the Rat

For all who feared never being able to taste that famous "cheese bowl" again, good news. The Rat is back.
The legendary tavern and restaurant, the Ramshead Rathskeller.. recently re-opened its doors after an abrupt closing in June.

To the delight of many, this Franklin Street staple is back, and with a tidy new look including a renovated Cave Room.
Though repairs have altered the Rat's time-honored appearance, you can still leave your mark as a true Tarheel fan.

Owner Francis Henry says the Rat has an improved look, but the history still remains a big part of the restaurant.

"I think you'll find it if you come in, just a fun place again. That's what we're aiming for. The Cave Room, as I say, is the oldest favorite room and it's going to be that way too," Henry said.

Alumni coming in for the game this weekend will be able to re-live some favorite memories of their times at the Rat.
