The holiday season is over and now it's time for another one: election season.
Students met in Manning Tuesday night to officially declare their candidacies.
Eighteen students are running for the six different positions. Ten of those are running for student body president.
Board of Elections Chair Melissa Anderson said they will all have to follow the same campaign code.
"Basically everyone came here tonight so they can hear the election rules so they can ask any questions they might have and be best informed on the election process," Anderson said.
The next step for candidates is getting the required number of petition signatures.
Candidates can launch their verbal and written campaigning soon after.
General elections will be Feb. 10.
