Carolina Week Sports
Men's Basketball v. Georgia Tech
by Alex Hurst

The battle lines were drawn when Carolina squared off against Georgia Tech Sunday night in the Smith Center.

Sunday's battle opened with the Heels attacking the basket, shooting four for four in the first two minutes.

The Yellow Jackets fought back, leaving Jawad Williams bleeding and woozy.

But the Heels would not be outdone; they attacked with layup after layup and, as always, a couple of dunks by Rashad McCants.

Ultimately, UNC prevailed, with Raymond Felton leading the Tar Heels to a decisive 103-88 victory.

Roy Williams said that the Heels need to duplicate the toughness when they play at Maryland Wednesday night and against UConn in the Smith Center on Saturday.

Williams said, "I think we have to have a passion for playing. We have to have a passion for the team play, and we have to have some toughness. And it's gotta be there at every session, every play."
