Students Can’t Count on Book Resale
by Rhonda Evans

For many students, selling books back to Student Stores can be the way to finally put an end to a difficult semester. Unfortunately, some students didn't receive any cash for their books last semester. Student Stores officials say selling books back can sometimes be risky business.

“It's really almost a game of chance,” says John Jones, director of Student Stores. “It depends on the local demand for the book, in terms of who's using it and what course is using it and the national demand.”

Low demand and the release of new editions can leave students out of luck when trying to get back some of the big money they paid out in the first place. If you find that your book has no resale value, Student Stores will give you 25 cents for your trouble.
