Study Says Textbooks Too Expensive
by Nora Warren

Spring semester is well under way, and chances are most students have already bought their textbooks. A new study out of New Jersey confirms what many students have said for years--books are just too expensive.

Some textbooks put students back more than $100 a piece. Public Interest Research Group says the average student spends nearly $1,000 on books each year. One reason is that publishers release new editions with minor changes and jack up the price. These new editions also make it harder for students to sell back their old books.
