Village Open to Undergraduates Fall ‘05
by Sean Maroney
Morrison Residence Hall is closing to students
next fall as two years of renovations begin.
This poses the question: where will the nearly
1,000 students who live there go?
Odom Village will be an option to these students
by offering apartment-style housing. Unlike
other residence halls, these will come with
a kitchen, bathroom and a
living room-dining room combination. Students
can also choose from one and two bedroom
units.
Housing Assistant Director Rick Bradley said
these apartments will provide a unique opportunity
for students.
"If two individuals are interested in
an apartment here,” said Bradley, “they could
pull in as many as eight total people and
actually request to be all in the same apartment
building."
Students who went through the Odom Village
tours last November will have priority for
the apartments. They'll meet February 22
in the Student Union to sign their contracts.
They can also sign up any interested friends.
On February 23, all other on-campus students
can sign leases. After that date, any remaining
apartments will be available during the online
recontracting process from March 29-31.
