Fans Camp Out for Prime Seats
by Lindsey Ellerson

For some students, having tickets to Sunday's Duke-Carolina game was not enough. About 250 fans camped outside of the Smith Center for three days to get the best spots on the risers.

Students remained outside the center from Thursday night until the doors opened Sunday afternoon. They distracted themselves by playing Frisbee, and, most importantly, by waiting for their friends to visit and bring food.

By 1 p.m. on Sunday, some of these rabid fans started to put their game faces on, getting pumped for the high intensity showdown with their biggest rival.

“Just being here, getting to see a Carolina Duke game in the Smith Center – it’s legendary,” said one fan.
