Wrestling Team Beats Hokies

While free throws might win games on the basketball court, throws to the mat put the wrestling team on top Saturday, helping the Tar Heels capture their 16th conference title.

UNC-CH edged out Virginia Tech by 9 1/2 points to avenge an early season loss to the Hokies and to grab the team title, thanks to major decision moves by All-Americans Evan Sola, Drew Forshey, Garrett Atkinson and David Dashiell. They all earned bids to the NCAA tourney in St. Louis, March 17-19.
