Sony Launches New Line of Portable Music Players

It seems like everyone on campus wears those little white headphones these days. But Sony is coming out with new portable music devices that could give Apple’s iPod a run for its money.

Sony recently celebrated the original walkman’s birthday by introducing seven new portable music players. The company launched the new lineup in an attempt to grab back market share from Apple and its mega-popular iPod.

The new walkman units will use Flash memory for data storage. The products will range in price from $90 to $465, depending on the amount of storage. The various models will be released between late March and May.
