Students Compete for Seats in Duke Game Risers
By Alex Villarreal

Friday afternoon, 11 students gathered in the Pit to get their hands on a ticket to the Duke basketball game. They came prepared to face the elements with layers, gloves—and for one contestant—a pair of lucky cowboy boots.

The “Hands on a Duke Ticket” competition required the brave 11 to keep at least one hand on the table-long replica ticket at all times.

The contest’s organizers, CAA and the KRANC Club, provided meals but no heat. The participants got 10-minute bathroom breaks every two hours.

After 53 hours 38 minutes and 38 seconds, the final two decided to end the contest and split the tickets.
