Bush’s Address Covers War on Terror, Economy
By Maggie Faust

President Bush touched on health care last night in his annual State of the Union address, but he mainly focused on the war on terrorism and the economy.

Congress welcomed the president with a round of cheers Tuesday night for his second State of the Union address this term.

Bush opened his address with a discussion of his policies toward Iraq and terrorism, and he explained to Congress about the absolute necessity of presenting a united front in regards to these policies.

“Members of Congress, however we feel about decisions and debates of the past, our nation has only one option. We must keep our word, defeat our enemies and stand behind our military in this vital mission,” Bush said.

Bush then moved on to the domestic situation in the U.S., and said that he planned on cutting more taxes in the year to come.

He also pushed for more affordable health care and investing in alternative energy sources over the next few years.
