By Karen Kolman

The Tar Heels headed south to Miami Sunday night to battle it out with the Hurricanes.

The Heels stormed out of the gate with an 8-0 lead in the first two minutes. Center Tyler Hansbrough scored 16 of his 25 points in the first half. Forward Reyshawn Terry also reached double figures before halftime.

The second half was full of tight back-and-forth play before the Heels took control with a 13-2 run with three-pointers from Bobby Fraser, Wes Miller and David Noel.

The Heels weathered the ‘Canes, winning 80-70.
