Runoff Election to be Held for Senior Officers
By Hanna Gordola and Meghan Smith
Two candidates for senior class president and
their running mates have one more week of campaigning
left.
Juniors Meg Petersen and Doug Weiss are headed
for a runoff election. Peterson earned 20 votes
more than Weiss, but that wasn't enough to win
a simple majority. That's because Jonathan Friedman
and running mate Barry Turner earned about 330
votes. Now Petersen and Weiss have one more
week to win over the juniors. Both say they're
happy to be in a runoff.
So what’s the next week going to be like
for them?
"It's going to be crazy… It's going
to be really crazy,” Petersen said. “Just
trying to remind everyone to vote again on Tuesday.
That'll be the most important part."
"We're just really excited that we got
to this next step,” Weiss said. “I'm
really glad that students kind of connected
with our platform. And we just have to make
up 20 votes, and I think that's something we
can do.”
