BOE Does More than Just Tally Votes
By Philip Jones

Counting votes isn't the Board of Election's only job. But almost no one on campus knows what those duties involve.

Carolina Week found a man with all the answers about the BOE — board chairman Nicholas Mosley.

Mosley said his eight-member board plays a unique role.

"I guess you could call us the referees – the referees and the CEOs,” Mosley said. “We're the people that make sure the elections run well. Anything University-related, we're required to run the elections.”

Mosley said one of the board's toughest jobs is keeping campaign workers away from students who don't want to be bothered.
