Weiss Makes Last Push for Senior Class Office
By Hanna A. Gordola

After last Tuesday night’s general election, senior class presidential candidate Doug Weiss and running mate Juelle McDonald are closely trailing behind Meg Petersen.

Weiss and his campaign staff took a break to recuperate the day after the last election, but since then, they’ve been hard at work to get juniors to notice them.

Weiss said they’ve been getting help from Bernard Holloway’s campaign staff.

Holloway lost to James Allred for next year’s student body president seat. Weiss said with the help of Holloway’s supporters, they hope to be able to erase the 20-vote lead Meg Petersen had after the last election.

“We’re feeling pretty good. We’re feeling confident,” Weiss said. “We’re getting out to a lot of new people. We feel like our platform is really connecting with students. And we really think the key point is getting students out to vote more than anything tomorrow.”

Juniors can log onto Student Central tomorrow to vote. Polls close at 10 p.m.
