Smith Center Gets $50,000 in Homeland Security Money
By Paula Cerutti

The Blue Devils aren’t the only aren’t the only threat to the Dean E. Smith Center.

According to the Department of Homeland Security the 20,000-seat arena is vulnerable to a terrorist attack. That's why they will give $50,000 to the University to better protect the Smith Center from terrorism.

The money is awarded to the University to outfit the center with security cameras, but Department of Public Safety officials said the money won’t be enough to get all the equipment they need.
