Famous Writer Visits UNC

New York Times best-selling author Joan Didion spoke to a full house in Memorial Hall Tuesday night. Didion read from her recent book, “The Year of Magical Thinking,” in which Didion describes losing her husband and dealing the serious illness of her daughter.

The New York Times named Didion’s book one of the best ten books of 2005.

The English Department brought Didion to campus. Chancellor James Moeser attended the event, along with many students, faculty members and Didion fans.
