Room Break-In Because of Unlocked Door
By Paula Cerutti

On Thursday around noon, sophomore Chris Chambers left his room in Lewis Residence Hall to take a shower. After being gone for 20 minutes, he came back to find that both his and his roommate's computers had been stolen.

Chambers reported the robbery to his resident advisor and to University police. Police are currently using the computer serial numbers to try to track the stolen property.

Chambers said he didn't realize what a big mistake not locking the door would turn out to be.

“I was seen not locking my door,” Chambers said, “and that person knew my door was not locked”

Police are urging students who live on campus to keep their doors locked. If you see anyone suspicious in the dorms, you should call the Department of Public
Safety at 962-8100.
