School Might Offer New Way to Pay Tuition
By Kelsey Richards

Because of a recent tuition increase, many students are looking for ways to lower the cost of going to school. Administrators are currently planning to initiate a pay-by-credit plan that allows students to pay tuition based on the number of classes they’re taking, instead of paying a flat fee.

Many state universities nationwide are already using this model. Some administrators are afraid students will be more likely to take fewer hours with this method. UNC-CH junior, Blair Brooks, supports the idea of paying by credit hour.

“I think it’s a better way to do it, and I think that especially going into my senior year when I’ll probably be under-loading and everything,” Brooks said. “I think it will save me a lot of money.”

Administrators will decide whether to use this plan within the next three months.
