Warrant Gives Insight into Attack
By Philip Jones

We now have more insight into what led Mohammed Taheri-azar to drive an SUV through the Pit Friday morning.

Documents Carolina Week obtained on Tuesday shed more light on Taheri-azar's attack.

Taheri-azar told police the attack was "an eye for an eye" because the "United States government has been killing his people across the sea."

Authorities also say Taheri-azar had been thinking about some kind of attack for two years, and had planned this one for about two months.

The Carolina graduate says he rented a SUV so he could "run things over and keep going."

There are also new details about some of the things officers found in his apartment, including the letter he alluded to in his 911 call Friday, an application for a
gun permit and two Navy SEAL team combat videotapes.

Police say Taheri-azar had two cans of pepper spray and a knife with him in the SUV in case he felt threatened.
