Baseball Blows Out Towson
By Loreal Andrews

Although it was not good baseball weather on Tuesday afternoon, the Tar Heels trampled Towson 11-2 at Boshamer Stadium.

From the first pitch, No. 2 Carolina was in attack mode. Five players had a multi-hit game against the Tigers, including designated hitter Kyle Shelton. The Charlotte sophomore opened the scoring spree with an RBI that brought in two runs, putting the Heels up 3-1.

Even with the cold rain coming down, the Carolina offense kept the momentum rolling, and after the first four innings, they had a 10-2 lead. They ended the contest with 15 hits.

Freshman pitcher Adam Warren led the way for UNC in his first career start. He only allowed five hits and registered 34 strikes.

The Heels finish the series against Towson on Wednesday before heading to Atlanta to face Georgia Tech.
