University Proposes Modifications to Construction Plans
By Maggie Faust

UNC-CH has submitted more modifications of campus construction plans to the Chapel Hill Town Council.

The modifications affect 14 future construction projects on campus, including Kenan Stadium, Boshamer Stadium and Davie Hall.

The council will review the proposal on April 19, and UNC officials hope that they will accept their suggestions.

“We are optimistic [that the town will accept the changes] since the plans enhance the overall academic and research mission of the University,” Runberg said.

Runberg said the changes will add an extra 1 million square feet in building space at a cost of $600 million.
