Sorority Holds Annual Fundraiser
By Brandon Underwood
During the weekend around 500 runners laced
up their sneakers to participate in Kappa Delta
Sorority’s 13th Annual Shamrock N’ Run.
The 5-kilometer race benefits the national organization
Prevent Child Abuse America. Proceeds go to
the local Durham Center for Child and Family
Health.
Sorority members helped with the event by selling
tickets, signing in runners and even running
in the race itself. Junior Page Spencer was
the first female to finish.
The event is the biggest philanthropic effort of the year for Kappa Delta.
The final total has yet to be tallied, but the sorority is hoping the numbers
will exceed the nearly $17,000 raised last year.
