Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Maryland
By Michael Crowe

The men's lacrosse team lost a close match to Maryland Saturday 9-6. The game continued the streak of matches against ranked opponents.

Sporadic showers sprinkled Fetzer Field throughout the game.

With Carolina trailing early, Ryan Blair dove from behind the goal to keep the score close.

The Tar Heels took the lead on an unassisted rocket from Ben Hunt. It was his first career goal.

But a Maryland goal seconds before halftime knotted the game at three.

In the second half Maryland started to pull away.

Joe Walters scored five goals and led the Terrapins to a 9-6 victory.
