Gas Prices Still on the Rise
By Ciji Dodds
Chances are your pockets will feel a little
lighter this summer. Gas prices went up 10 cents
this past week, and most experts predict they’ll
continue to rise.
High prices at the pump are because of scaled
back production at oil refineries. President
Bush says refineries are still recovering from
the 2005 hurricane season.
Traditionally the travel season also causes
a rise in prices. The national average is now
$2.78 per gallon, which is up 55 cents from
a year ago.
